If food or weight is worrying you
Where to find support in the UK and Ireland, how to use Brekkie without goals, and how to reach us.
Version 2026-10-v1. Last updated 9 October 2026.
Counting what you eat suits some people and not others. If logging has started to feel like pressure, or food, weight or your body is on your mind more than you would like, it is fine to stop, and there are people who can help. You don’t need to be sure anything is wrong to talk to one of them.
If you need help now
- In an emergency, call 999 in the UK, or 112 or 999 in Ireland.
- Samaritans, in the UK and Ireland: call 116 123. It is free, and someone answers at any time of the day or night.
- In the UK, you can also call 111 for urgent advice from the NHS.
Brekkie is not an emergency service, and nobody at Brekkie is watching what you log.
Your GP
Your GP is a good first person to talk to, in the UK and in Ireland. You can tell them as much or as little as you want to begin with, and you can bring someone with you.
In the UK: Beat
Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. It is for anyone worried about their own eating or someone else’s, whether or not there is a diagnosis. Its helplines are free to call:
- England: 0808 801 0677
- Northern Ireland: 0808 801 0434
- Scotland: 0808 801 0432
- Wales: 0808 801 0433
Opening hours, email support and one-to-one web chat are on Beat’s helpline page.
In Ireland: Bodywhys
Bodywhys is the Eating Disorders Association of Ireland. It supports people affected by eating disorders and the people close to them.
- Helpline: 01 2107906
- Email support: alex@bodywhys.ie
Helpline hours, online support groups and more are on bodywhys.ie.
Using Brekkie without goals
Brekkie is yours to use in the way that suits you, including not at all.
- Goals are optional. If you have never set goals, Brekkie simply keeps your diary: what you ate and the totals, with nothing to aim for.
- If you have goals and would rather not see them, email info@brekk.ie from the address on your account and we will switch them off for you. Your diary stays as it is.
- If your gym set your goals, you can talk to your gym, or leave the programme from the My gym tab at any time. Your own goals come back at once, and the gym can no longer open your diary.
- You can take a break. Stop logging for as long as you like. Your diary will be there if you come back. If you switched on a reminder, you can switch it off in the app or in your phone’s settings.
- You can stop altogether. Delete your account from Profile and what you logged is removed. If you have a subscription, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings as well.
Brekkie’s numbers are estimates worked out from what you enter. They are information, not medical advice, and they are not a judgement of you. More on that is in our Terms of Use.
If you are worried about how a gym is coaching you
A gym on Brekkie has agreed not to pressure anyone about their food, weight or body, and not to ask anyone to eat below Brekkie’s minimums. If that is not how it feels, you can leave the programme at any time, and you can tell us at info@brekk.ie. We read every message, and we won’t tell the gym who wrote unless you ask us to.
Reaching Brekkie
- Email info@brekk.ie about your account, your data, a programme, or anything on this page. We aim to reply within two working days. We can’t give medical advice.
- Ideas and problems with the app can also go on our public feedback board. It is run by another company and what you post there is public, so please don’t put anything personal on it.
How we handle your information is in our Privacy Policy.
